Beer a Day Blog

My opinion on a variety of beers.

Weihenstephaner Kristall Weißbier

Spice, spice baby. The Weihenstephan Brewery of Bavaria Germany is the World’s oldest continuous operating brewery. The brewery was licensed in 1040, now that’s going way back. Founded like many breweries by monks, Weihenstephaner Kristall Weißbier (Weißbier ) is a Kristall (which means clear or unfiltered) which is a bit different from most Bavarian wheat beers that tend to be unfiltered. This one is heavy on the spices. once again if this is how you like your `whites`then you`ll like this one. While not my preference I liked this one, it would be a good introduction to the style if you are looking for one to try. Those monks have had a lot of time to get it right.

7.5/10
