Beer a Day Blog

My opinion on a variety of beers.

Spitfire Ale

Spitfire is a very good ale in the style of an English Ale. A Kentish Ale named after the famous fighter plane. Originally brewed for the 50th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain, and to raise money for the RAF benevolent fund. They have continued to brew it and it is now one of Britain’s fastest growing premium ales. And with good reason, a full-bodied tasting ale, I found it very good and certainly worth trying. Not a big fan of their advertisements, a bit over the top, the war references and insensitive slogans are sophomoric attempts at humour, unless you find references to Göring funny.
